Northwestern Legal Services is primarily funded by federal and state grants, including those from the Legal Services Corporation, Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network, Title XX, the Interest on Lawyers Trust Accounts, Disability Advocacy Program, and the Access to Justice Act. These funds are restricted and can only be used for casework.
To expand our outreach, we are actively fundraising for unrestricted funds. These funds will enable us to increase our impact and reach more individuals in need!

Northwestern Legal Services receives general funding from Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network from the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and Title XX of the Social Security Act. Both sources strictly regulate program operations and establish the criteria for the determination of client eligibility. Under Section 504 of the LSC Appropriation Act and Sections 1610.5 and 1610.7 of the LSC Regulations, your donation may not be used in any manner inconsistent with the LSC Act or Section 504.
